Former IndyCar and open wheel star, Dan Clarke, continues to blaze a trail through the Intercontinental Trophy Cup Racing Series in his Isringhausen Motorsports Porsche Cayman. With his fourth victory in four races at Watkins Glen last weekend, the 28 year old Englishman is rightfully gaining a reputation as a GT ace.

The weekend could not have gone much better for "Speedy Dan" as he again took a clean sweep with pole position, victory and the fastest lap in rounds three and four of the ITC. It was a far cry from Clarke's previous visit to the historic upstate New York venue. "The last time I was here I had an engine failure after 21 laps of the NASCAR Nationwide Series race so it was very satisfying to put that behind me in such an emphatic way", Clarke went on to explain that "[taking] the lead in the championship after winning the first race was target number one for me and now my target is to win the ITC title".

Having always been a keen student of the racing, the significance of winning at "The Glen" was not lost on Clarke, "victory in a sports car on such an historic track is really important to me". After the race Dan then fully embraced one of the great Watkins Glen traditions with a visit to the Seneca Lodge. "Visiting the Lodge and absorbing the 50 years history of Watkins Glen was a incredibly satisfying way to complete a fantastic weekend"

Team boss Geoff Isringhausen could barely contain his delight at the performance levels being reached by his driver, "Dan's results at the Glen are well deserved based on the incredible amount of hard work he put in to securing the drive. I am hugely excited about Isringhausen Motorsport's prospects for the rest of the Intercontinental Trophy Cup season."

Clarke gets the opportunity to continue his Intercontinental Trophy Cup Series hot streak at Road Atlanta on June 15 and 16.

Audi R18 e-tron quattro is the evolution of racing

Video after the jump!

A new era of racing at Le Mans is upon us and Audi is leading the field once again through new technology in the form of the Audi R18 e-tron quattro.

Audi has won races around the world utilizing groundbreaking technologies such as quattro, turbocharged direct injection (TFSI) and turbo diesel (TDI) engines. Each of these found their way into very successful production vehicles such as the original quattro, the iconic Audi R8 and everything from an A3 to an Q7 TDI.

Now it is time for a new era of racing technology through the R18 e-tron quattro which uses brake regeneration to power the front wheels while the V6 TDI engine powers the rear.

Watch the Audi Sport team explain the philosophy of developing technologies for the track that then find their way to the streets in this video.

See the Audi R18 ultra and the R18 e-tron quattro compete at the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans race on Saturday, June 16th/17th 2012.

Flying Lizard announced today that Porsche factory driver and French national Patrick Pilet will join the No. 79 Flying Lizard Porsche for the upcoming 24 Heures du Mans. Pilet replaces Darren Law, who is unable to participate due to a scheduling conflict. Flying Lizard will field two Porsche entries in the endurance race on June 16: the No. 80 Porsche 911 GT3 RSR in the GTE Pro class and the No. 79 GT3 RSR in the GTE Am class.

The drivers of the No. 80 are Joerg Bergmeister (Germany), Patrick Long (USA) and Marco Holzer (Germany). The No. 79 drivers are Seth Neiman (USA), Spencer Pumpelly (USA), and Patrick Pilet (France). Bergmeister, Long, Holzer and Pilet are all Porsche factory drivers.

Eric Ingraham, Flying Lizard team manager and strategist of the No. 79 Porsche, said, “Obviously, we are disappointed that Darren is unable to participate; he has been a fundamental part of our American Le Mans Series team since 2004 and our Le Mans program since 2009. However, Patrick will be an excellent addition to the No. 79 lineup. He ran with us for our full 2008 American Le Mans Series season, and several races since, including the 2011 ALMS Petit Le Mans where he finished second in the No. 45 Porsche with Joerg and Patrick Long.”
