Audi TT Coupe S line competition Posted: 03 Jul 2012 01:59 PM PDT Audi is boosting the character of its sports car with the TT Coupe S line competition special edition. Available for all engine versions up to 155 kW (211 hp), the special edition of the Audi TT combines all the elements of the S line sport package and the S line exterior package, and adds new and exclusive features – all for an attractive package price of just €4,300 ($5,426). The TT Coupe S line competition special edition makes no secret of its exclusive status. The S line exterior package includes specially designed bumpers, air inlets and side sills, S line badges, tailpipe trims and a distinctive diffuser insert. There is also a fixed rear wing like on the Audi TT RS. Xenon plus headlights with LED daytime running lights provide excellent visibility in the dark.
The paint finishes Samoa Orange, metallic, Glacier White, metallic, Daytona Gray, pearl effect and Misano Red, pearl effect are available at no extra charge. With the sporty black styling package, the radiator grill is framed in high-gloss black while the radiator grille insert, the license plate frame and the applications on the front fog light grille are matt black. Other S line competition elements in high-gloss black are the exterior mirror housings, the blade below the front bumper, the diffuser insert, the tailpipe trims and the rear wing spoiler. The imposing 19-inch wheels in a five-arm “Rotor” design are also painted black and shod with 255/35 series tires. The taut S line sport suspension lowers the chassis by 10 millimeters (0.39 mm). The interior of the TT Coupe S line competition also offers the features of the S line sport package, including the special door sill trims, the extended aluminum-look trim, the leather package, the sport seats and the short shift travel for the manual transmissions. As in the TT RS, the rim of the leather multifunction sport steering wheel is more strongly contoured and flattened at the bottom. Piping surrounds the floor mats. The seats come standard with perforated Alcantara upholstery in combination with black leather and silver contrast stitching. S line logos adorn the backrests. The color black dominates the interior. The inlays are made of matt brushed aluminum; with the Samoa Orange exterior finish, these are replaced by inlays with a reflex finish in the body color. The TT Coupe S line competition special edition is now available worldwide and can be combined with additional options and trim lines. The package price of €4,300 ($5,426) saves customers roughly 50 percent versus the price of the options ordered separately. This offer boosts the sports car character of the TT and complements the attractive Audi exclusive line packages already available: from the Audi exclusive line Black, which is painted exclusively in Panther Black, crystal effect, to the Audi exclusive line Ice with black and silver seat upholstery to the Audi exclusive line Color, in which the exterior colors red, blue or gray are carried over into the interior in the form of colored inlays and contrast stitching. - Audi Related posts: You're reading Audi TT Coupe S line competition originally posted on oneighturbo.com. Joerg Bergmeister to celebrate 100th ALMS start at Lime Rock Posted: 03 Jul 2012 06:18 AM PDT Joerg Bergmeister and Porsche – it’s been a constant in the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patron since 2002. For more than half of his ALMS career, Bergmeister’s erstwhile partner in Porsches has been Patrick Long. So as the tall German’s 100th ALMS start approaches, there is no one better to salute him than Long, who has been a part of three of Bergmeister’s five ALMS GT championships… There’s no one quicker at getting up to speed and pushing for lap times every single session of the weekend than Joerg. He’s a master on the technical side and he can drive a car that’s outside the window of handling better than most; he can take a sub par, unbalanced car and put on the edge like no one I’ve ever seen. But there are some times when that catches him out! My first race in 2005 at Sebring, Lucas (Luhr), Joerg and I were driving together. It was raining, and we all decided to take it easy on the car because there was no forecast for rain for the race. In typical fashion, Joerg went out there hauling it and the team kept getting on the radio telling to take it easy and that he was easily the quickest car on the track; we just needed to shake the car down. He came in, and we asked him how the car was. He said everything was good and he was taking it easy. The photo on the front page of the Sebring paper the next day was of him spinning down the frontstretch through all the cones at the pit exit and bowling them all over. You can see his helmet clear as day! We all came in that morning and asked him, ‘So you were taking it easy, right?’ But that was classic Joerg. He’s always on the gas and rarely makes mistakes. If you’re not on your game, it’ll be highlighted because he’s always on his. You have to be almost obsessed with a certain subject to be a master at it. You have to have a passion for it in order to be the best. Joerg is completely captivated by the engineering side of things. He’s very detailed and likes to break down anything in life. The mechanics and physics of engineering and how the race car works makes him passionate about the engineering side of things. There are times when he’ll question something to the team and very well might be dealt with in a different way or not dealt with at all. It’s extremely detailed and knowledgeable and educated from the engineering side. The American Le Mans Northeast Grand Prix is Saturday, July 7. The two-hour, 45-minute race is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET from the 1.5-mile, eight-turn Lime Rock Park circuit. ESPN2’s broadcast featuring live coverage begins at 4 p.m. ET. Full coverage is available starting at 2:45 p.m. ET on ESPN3. - ALMS Photos: © 2012 Flying Lizards/Bob Chapman | © 2012 Darren Pierson/DPerceptions Related posts: You're reading Joerg Bergmeister to celebrate 100th ALMS start at Lime Rock originally posted on oneighturbo.com.
