Valentino’s Iconic Helmets

Posted: 11 Jul 2012 10:04 PM PDT

Hi guys, check out the video below documenting Valentino Rossi’s connection to the Italian Grand Prix. From his seven consecutive race victories, to the return on a Ducati motorcycle, the race has always left a huge impression on the tens of thousands who come to idolize him.

Starting in 2002 the Mugello story took an added tradition of a one-off helmet which was often dedicated to Italy and Rossi’s fans. Never short on imagination or humor Valentino’s delivered a sense of fun and an insight into his private thoughts each year.

Usually kept a secret, as is tradition, Valentino takes us through this year’s helmet on Saturday morning but the best place to start is to look through some of his own personal favorites form years gone by.

Posted: 09 Jul 2012 10:00 PM PDT

They’re essentially the same bike, with the Strada the more road-focused of the two and the Terra more able to tackle off-road riding. They’re powered by the 652cc single-cylinder engine from the BMW G650GS, although power has been increased from 47bhp to a claimed 58bhp.

The Strada will come with ABS as standard, following BMW adding ABS as standard to all their new models, while it will be an optional extra on the Terra.

Less Than 30 UK MZ Skorpion Sports Left

Posted: 08 Jul 2012 10:00 PM PDT

Hey what’s going on guys? Some of you may remember our short lived MZ Skorpion Staff Bike from a while back.

Launched at the same time as the firm's unfaired Tour version, and seven years previous to the fully-loaded Traveller incarnation, MZ's Skorpion Sport was a breath of fresh air, and on the face of it, a much better bike than anything you'd have imagined possible when you consider the image the MZ name sometimes conjours up.

Housing Yamaha's XT660 motor within a beautifully simple frame helped create a light, affordable and generally reliable workhorse that had more than a dash of style to it, too.

The handling was lithe, assisted by low bars and light weight, as the three United Kingdom owners who keep theirs on the roads will no doubt attest.

Better hold on to yours Ted. The Sport seems destined for classic status.
