McLaren… F1… on oneighturbo.com? Didn’t the McLaren MP4 12C GT3 run against Porsche, Audi and Lamborghini? Yes, but do not worry, we will not be following in United Autosports footsteps. However, oneighturbo.com was given an inside look and hands on testing with Simraceway’s new racing game. All we can say is WOW.

Around here, we are avid “console” gamers with a good number of iRacing laps under our belt. Simraceway lands in the middle. To us, it blends the two genres with arcade like visuals yet precise driving dynamics. Both Dario Franchitti and Dan Wheldon were brought on to help develop these key features. Unfortunately, Dan had passed away on Oct. 16th of this year.

As part of the hands-on we were greeted with a piece of “hardware” from the Simraceway / SteelSeries partnership. We can’t talk much about it, but we promise you will be pleased.

After a few laps at Mid-Ohio, we were quickly up to speed with the Renault Megane Trophy and laying down some of the fastest times! We were also lapping in a few vehicles were not aloud to talk about just yet!

Exclusive Licensing Agreement Makes Simraceway First Game to Feature McLaren’s Entire Portfolio of Road and Race Cars, Including All F1 Cars

Ignite Game Technologies, the online gaming company focused on building a new form of auto racing game — Simraceway — today announced it has reached a deal with the McLaren Group to create high-detail virtual models of every car the legendary automotive company has ever created.

This partnership breaks new ground for the video games industry, representing the first time McLaren has licensed its entire catalogue of F1, Can-Am, sports and road cars for use in a game. It also signals the gaming debuts of some of the brand’s greatest cars.

Included in this glittering line-up is the co-star of the hit movie Senna, the iconic 800hp, turbocharged MP4/4 F1 car that was driven into the history books by the legendary Ayrton Senna and his teammate Alain Prost. The MP4/4 is still the most successful car in Formula One history, having won 15 of the 16 races it entered in the 1988 season, capturing the same number of pole positions and leading no less than 1003 of the 1031 laps raced that season.

The deal also gives Simraceway users access to every other F1 car McLaren has produced, including the 1974 and 1976 cars made famous by Emerson Fittipaldi and James Hunt respectively and of course the 2011 car, the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes MP4-26, currently being driven by Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button. All 36 F1 cars, with the exception of the MP4-26, will be exclusive to Simraceway.

Away from the track, McLaren’s renowned range of road cars will also be available to drive, including the record-breaking McLaren F1 and the brand new carbon chassis-based MP4-12C, along with its racing variant, the MP4-12C GT3 that will feature in the 2012 season of the FIA GT3 European Championship.

In total, the deal brings all 60 McLarens to the Simraceway environment with a number being available when the game launches in the fall 2011. The rest will follow during 2012 as Ignite completes its “simulation library” of the brand’s glorious history.

“We’re equal parts proud and humbled that McLaren has chosen Simraceway to become the largest licensor of its vehicles and a virtual custodian of its rich racing heritage,” said Ignite CEO Jonathan Haswell. “Creating a playable library of McLaren’s complete line of celebrated race and road cars is a major step forward in our aim of pushing the racing game beyond the limits that have previously defined the genre.”

“In Simraceway we’re creating a living, constantly evolving, racing world that gives gamers access to authentic virtual models of the most powerful, beautiful and iconic machines on the planet. To achieve this we’re developing a lot of new and highly-innovative technologies, including simulation-grade vehicle physics and a proprietary skill quantification engine, so it feels appropriate to be associated with McLaren, a brand synonymous with innovation in motorsport.”

“Choosing Simraceway as our licensor for all 60 McLarens makes perfect sense,” said Jonathan Neale, Managing Director of McLaren Racing. “We’re highly impressed with their gaming products, innovative technology and the drive of their people. We are very optimistic that this will represent the start of a successful co-operation between the two companies, and we look forward to seeing our rich and beloved heritage brought to life in the virtual world.”

Ducati 1199 Panigale

Posted: 06 Nov 2011 09:00 PM PST

Hey guys, Jon here again. Ducati’s incredible new 1199 Panigale has just been unveiled. It's incredibly light (164kg dry), incredibly powerful (192bhp) and incredibly intelligent (ABS, traction control, ride-by-wire, engine brake control, electronically adjustable suspension, TFT dash). But, most importantly, it's going to be incredibly fast.

The paint had barely dried on the first Ducati 1098 superbikes off the production lines back in 2007 when the firm sat down and began the process of building its successor: the 1199 Panigale.

The targets laid down for the 1199 Panigale were so strict, so binding and so difficult to achieve that nothing less than a complete rethink was going to be enough. That meant ditching Ducati’s tradition of a steel trellis frame and embracing something completely new.

The front subframe/airbox/headstock is aluminum, a material choice likely taken to keep costs down over the carbon fiber item on Ducati's MotoGP bikes. It attaches to the cylinder heads only. The aluminum rear subframe bolts to the rear cylinder head, while the die cast aluminum single-sided swingarm bolts to the rear of the engine. All this facilitates that low weight, but it has other advantages too; the swingarm is 39mm longer than that of the outgoing 1198 while the total wheelbase of the 1199 is just 7.6mm longer.

The cost is going to be $17,995(USD) for the standard version, $22,995(USD) for the "S" version, $23,995(USD) for "S" version with ABS and $27,995(USD) for the Italian heritage-inspired Tricolore version.

The basic version uses fully-adjustable Marzocchi front/Sachs rear suspension and is fitted with traction control, quickshift, "engine brake control" (more on that in a minute) and ride-by-wire as standard. ABS is optional.

The Ducati 1199 Panigale S adds electronically adjusted 43mm Ohlins NIX30 forks and and TTX36 shock, while ABS remains optional.

The Ducati 1199 Panigale S Corse comes with a titanium racing exhaust, tricolore paint and a data analysis package that will spit out lap times, lean angles, deep-dive engine parameters and TC actuation info to either a Mac or PC.

MV Agusta Reveals Finished Brutale 675

Posted: 05 Nov 2011 10:00 PM PDT

Hi guys! MV Agusta has officially taken the wraps off the Brutale 675 for the first time with the Triumph Street Triple rival in the United Kingdom.

The Brutale shares the same basic inline three-cylinder 675cc engine with the F3 but in this naked bike version it has been retuned for 115bhp at 12,500rpm. Despite being the least expensive MV Agusta ever sold in the UK it retains most of the Motor and Vehicle Integrated Control System (MVICS) which includes ride by wire throttle, multiple engine maps and eight-way adjustable traction control.

MV is claiming a dry weight of 163kg which when oil, water and fuel are added will equate to around five kilos less than the Triumph Street Triple R's 189kg even with a full tank of fuel.

MV Agusta F3 675 Full Details Released

Posted: 04 Nov 2011 10:05 PM PDT

Hey, what’s going on everyone? MV's forthcoming and mouth-watering new supersports, the F3 675, will be the most sophisticated, tech-laden supersports ever when it finally goes on sale next month. Look out Daytona 675 (finally)!

The Italian firm has at long last revealed the all-new machine's full technical specification and it promises to blow away conventions of what middleweight sports bikes are fitted with, and capable of.

In short, the all-new three-cylinder machine's spec reads more like that of high-end full-liter superbike than that of a 600-class machine.

Switchable mapping and traction control, launch control, anti-wheelie and a quickshifter headline the F3's superbike-style electronics package; the ultra-compact, short-stroke three-cylinder engine boasts a MotoGP-style counter-rotating crank and a claimed 128cv @ 14,500rpm; while the chassis is ultra-compact, too – boasting a class-leading, ultra-short, 1380mm wheelbase and dry weight of just 173kg.

The new F3 675 will be available from December in limited edition Serie Oro guise and from January in standard form in red/silver, white or black.

Stay tuned for more updates, and be sure to order your copy of the 2011 print edition of Inline Performance Magazine HERE at the pre-order price for a limited time.

Ford Fiesta ST Concept 5p

Between November 18 and November 27, the new Ford Fiesta ST Concept will land beyond the Atlantic, at the Los Angeles Motor Show 2011: the automotive Blue Oval has also decided to show the home market ‘fierce B-segment small car, already previewed at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2011 to European fans. Yet there is something different: it is not the same appointment German prototype exhibited last September. The changes are marginal: the concept car that we will see in Los Angeles has five doors (as we witness these photographs, just disclosed by the American brand), while the prototype in Frankfurt, exposed in the heart of the Old Continent, had three doors. That’s it? The new livery of Ford Fiesta ST Concept – born from the classic version of Ford Fiesta tout court, that is, from city cars that we see daily on the road – does not change the essence of the car, his soul, but assures us that the Ford Motor Company is planning of giving birth to the new Fiesta ST is three doors with five doors, embracing a wider catchment area is likely.

Following this event the U.S., the new Ford Fiesta ST will be officially unveiled as ready for commercialization at the Geneva Motor Show 2012.
