Ben Spies Debuts Rossi-less Yamaha’s 1Kcc MotoGP Bike Posted: 17 Aug 2011 10:00 PM PDT |
Hey guys, Jon here again. Ben Spies has just completed his first laps on board Yamaha's new factory 1000cc MotoGP bike at the Brno circuit in the Czech Republic, aving initially spent the first part of the one-day test session riding his current YZR-M1 800cc machine.
It is the first time the new Yamaha has been seen in public after the Japanese factory was forced to postpone a planned debut in Mugello last month after an engine failed during dyno testing in Japan.
Reigning world champion Jorge Lorenzo will get his first chance to test the new Yamaha later today after he's assessed a revised 800cc motor.
