Sports Car Challenge for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad Posted: 08 Feb 2012 12:09 PM PST Boy did we miss this one… Sports Car Challenge for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad is the perfect racing game for our readers! Why? Because it features Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Porsche and Volkswagen cars. We will let them slide on including the Volkswagen Scirocco R as a “supercar”. It should have been the GTI W12-650 or Nardo. Either way the list is awesome and there’s more coming! If you’ve kept up with our iOS games coverage, FISHLABS is a household name for Volkswagen. Volkswagen Polo Challenge and the Scirocco R 24H Challenge are two good ones. Powered by the ABYSS game engine and using the latest shader and bump map technologies optimized for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, the game looks outstanding. Performance is solid, even on a 1st gen iPad. The latest build includes interior 360 views and the detail is incredible. For a mobile device, it’s Forza 4 goodness. Sports Car Challenge car list:
There are three racing modes to choose from; Time Trial, Slalom and Braking. The time trial is set on a “Green Hell” like circuit with lush beauty surrounding a very demanding set of turns. An update is coming very soon which will include a brand-new circuit called Yakeshi Yun Long Lake. Yakeshi is a county-level city located in the middle of the Hulunbuir district, Inner Mongolia, China. Why? Recently events like the Porsche Snow Force 2011 and the Lamborghini Winter Academy have taken place here. Audi also held its Audi Quattro 30 Year event here in 2010. Controls: You can freely chose between manual or automatic gearshift and acceleration, as well as steer your car via accelerometer or touch control. Features:
The game also utilizes Apple’s Game Center to see where you stand as well as taking on friends and family. Download on iTunes (Universal and requires iOS 3.1 or later) Related posts: You're reading Sports Car Challenge for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad originally posted on oneighturbo.com. Gallery: Sebring Winter Test 2012 Posted: 08 Feb 2012 09:15 AM PST A dreary Wednesday morning greeted the teams and the first of two winter test days for the American Le Mans 2012 season. Morning temps were hovering around 55* with the first session starting 8-11:30AM ET. These two days will be a bit more laid back in terms of competition as lots of data is being collected vs top times. Falken Tire, Paul Miller Racing and Flying Lizard will be giving the new Porsche 911 GT3 RSR its first laps. Both Falken and Paul Miller will also be testing new tires. Falken with its new AZENIS and Paul Miller is now running Dunlop. It is somewhat refreshing to see the new 911 GT3 RSR running naked and that ass… In the first session, it was Ferrari and Corvette out front with the BMW’s sneaking in the top six at the end. Patrick Long had the top Porsche spot in seventh with a 2:02.638. 10th – no44 Flying Lizards – 2:04.099 We’ve conned our contributing photographer, James Boone, into hanging out down at Sebring and taking some pics for everyone. More from the second session after its completion. Enjoy!
