2013 KTM Moto3 Racer

Hi guys, KTM will be making a production Moto3 racer available to the public for 2013.

The customer Moto3 machine will differ slightly to the current factory machine ridden by Danny Kent, Sandro Cortese and Arthur Sissis. The wheels will be aluminium instead of magnesium, and there will be no factory Brembo brakes or WP suspension. The maximum engine speed will be 13,500rpm as opposed to the 14,000rpm of the current machine.

KTM are already taking orders for the 2013 machine, with the close date set for October 2012. The bikes will be delivered in February 2013. Here are the specifications.

KTM Moto3 250 GPR (Production Racer 2013)
Engine: Single cylinder, liquid cooled / 4-stroke / DOHC
Displacement / Bore x Stroke: 249,5 ccm/81 x 48,5 mm
Performance: min. 37 kW at 13.000 rpm
Engine speed: max. 13.500 rpm
Front Suspension: WP/DM 45 mm, RCMA3548
Rear Suspension: WP/adjust. length, hydraulic preload
Brakes front/rear: Brembo Radial caliper, 290 / 190 mm single disc
Rims front/rear: OZ Forged Aluminum 2,5 x 17 / 3,5 x 17
Tires front/rear: Dunlop 95/70-17 / 115/70-17
Silencer: Akrapovic Full Titanium System (max. 108 dB)
Frame: Tubular steel with adjust. headstock and swing arm pivot.

Angie Smith’s Brakes Fail @ Motorcycle NHRA

What’s up people? Check out Angie Smith racing a 320bhp Buell at a Norwalk, Ohio drag strip when her brakes failed and she was unable to slow before running off into a corn field.

The rider is fine, just a potential broken finger.
