Aprilia Dorsoduro 1200 MY 2012 Official Video

Hi guys. The Aprilia Dorsoduro 1200 has been updated for 2012 with lightweight forged wheels, revised engine management software, slimmed-down bodywork and new graphics.

While smoother throttle response and slimmer exhaust heat shields were both needed, it's the new wheels that are going to make the biggest difference to the supermoto-style naked roadster. Shedding 5.07lbs over the previous items, the new forged wheels will improve acceleration, braking, ride and traction.

No word on when we can expect the 2012 model Stateside or if our version will include traction control this year.

Audi to Buy Ducati

Hey guys, Jon here again. German car giant Audi has until mid-April to decide if it wants to buy Ducati as part of a exclusivity deal according to insiders. It’s all part of Project Eagle, another brainchild of Volkswagen group boss Ferdinand Piech.

He has been eying up the opportunity of buying a prestigious motorcycle brand for some time, and considered reviving Horex, a German motorcycle firm which made bikes from 1936 to 1956 but it was felt Horex didn't have enough brand recognition, so when Bologna-based Ducati came up for sale the VW Group paid close attention.

Especially since Mercedes-Benz recently entered into a cross-promotional deal with Ducati. Ducati, which makes around 40,000 motorcycles a year, is on the market since its debt burden is reportedly higher than its revenues.
