The Italian car company, Composite Worx is currently working on an interesting model Extrema, based on Lotus Exige. This company is not known internationally, and is situated in Bergamo. However, they wish to spread its name worldwide with this upcoming project that they have in hand.

Lotus Extrema is a brilliant project taken up by the company. This is based on Exige. It comes along with an engine from Chevrolet Corvette. The code of the engine happens to be, LS9 V8. It is so powerful that it is able to produce 484 kW.

It is not of much weight, however. The net weight amounts to be 970 kilograms approximately. Owing to this it is able to run at a speed of 62 km/hr in a matter of some seconds. The car produces a speed of 100 km/hr in about 2 seconds and in another 7-8 seconds its roars across the street at a speed of 161 km/hr. the car travels at a maximum sped of 322 km/he, which is extremely fast. The light weight of the body is due to the body of the car that is made of carbon fiber. It also has carbon seats from SP1 having twin skins.

Almost a 123GT: 1968 Volvo 122S

Posted: 27 Nov 2012 06:19 AM PST

Chrises Cars - Almost a 123GT: 1968 Volvo 122S

This 1968 Volvo 122S is said to have received a $50k restoration in 1996 and then logged only 2000 miles since. According to the seller, a 123GT served as a donor car and gave up its higher compression B10 motor and other 123GT-specific parts during the restoration. Most of the other parts used were brand new, and many upgrades were made along the way including Bilstein shocks and IPD springs and swaybars. While it may not be a ‘true’ 123GT, we love all of the changes made that make it a better driver yet still keeping the period feel. Find it here on eBay in Edgewater, Maryland. Special thanks to BaT reader Tim M. for this submission!

According to the seller, the car is completely rust free, though a few spots of underside surface rust can be seen. The paint is also said to be in excellent shape with but a few tiny flaws that would be unnoticeable in any setting short of a full concours showing. The Minilites, exhaust tips, and slightly lowered suspension give the car a sporting edge, though the builder wisely kept the rest of the car looking clean and stock.

The interior is said to have received a new headliner, Bendix AM radio, modern retractable seatbelts, and a re-built speedo. The rest of the interior looks to be in fantastic shape, and there is nothing we’d change. The car is also said to come with a scarce rear-window defroster, though there is no antenna and the trunk lid won’t stay up without a prop rod.

1968 Volvo 122 For Sale Dash 2

The engine is said to have been taken from a 123GT, though no mention is made if it was ever rebuilt. The seller does say that the tranny and SU carbs were rebuilt, and an electric fan, Bilstein shocks, and IPD sway bars and lowering springs were installed. The engine bay looks to be amazingly clean and tidy, and probably shows better now than when the car was brand new.

The Volvo Amazon has to rank as one of the greats of the classic car world. Well built, reliable, with solid bodies (by 60s standards), and great parts support, there is no wonder why so many remain. While both completely factory stock and heavily modified examples are fairly common, its nice to see the restrained yet driver-oriented choices made for this 122S. Though it may have been used for shows over the past 14 years, if it were ours we’d love to just drive it, and then drive it some more.

BaT Success Story: An F100 With a View

Chrises Cars - BaT Success Story: An F100 With a View

Well, it took us over five years, but we finally found the BaT reader with the best life. Sorry Alfa and Porsche guys, it looks like Mark M. has you all beat after picking up the 1966 Ford  pick-up we featured here two weeks ago. Nice going, Mark!

“Hi, /> I ended up purchasing the 1966 Ford F100 Pickup that was listed on BaT – and what a cool truck it is (pic attached).  I-m enjoying it as is my lab, Jack.  I did add a blanket to the seat to keep him from sliding around as was suggested in the comments!

The sellers were great to work with and the truck was as promised and then some.  I met them halfway between their location and mine and drove the truck 160 miles home with no issues.  Love the truck and BaT!  Now looking for the next one-

Thanks, /> Mark M. /> Central WA”

1978 Lancia Beta Berlinetta

Chrises Cars - 1978 Lancia Beta Berlinetta

Clean Lancia Betas are a rare find and the four-door body style is the rarest of the bunch, so it’s unusual to find a Berlinetta as good as this 1978. Though its lines aren’t as attractive as those of its many siblings, the dash is one of our favorites for the series.  Find it here on Craigslist in San Francisco, California for $2,950. Special thanks to BaT reader Rob F. for this submission!

54k-mile Original: 1971 Triumph TR6

Posted: 27 Nov 2012 06:18 AM PST

Chrises Cars - 54k-mile Original: 1971 Triumph TR6

This 1971 Triumph TR6 is described as an extremely clean, 54k-mile example that's had the same owner for more than 30 years. The car reportedly has always been garaged and looks to be very original right down to its '70s California blue plates. Find it here on Craigslist in Newport Beach, California for $15k.

The car’s paint, which is said to be original and appears to be Code 56 Royal Blue, looks to be  in good condition and the body seems quite straight. The convertible top and its frame are said to be new and the rear luggage rack authentic. These cars, the last of the traditional body-on-frame TRs, offer updated TR4/250 styling that still looks good today.

The interior looks to be in good condition, in keeping with a 54k-mile car. The wood dashboard veneer appears to be very presentable, as do the seats apart from what looks like a small tear in the driver's seatback. The steering wheel, instruments and controls all appear to be good. The car has an AM/FM radio, but it almost seems superfluous given the entertaining exhaust note supplied by the six under the hood.

The valve cover of the 2498cc six has been chrome plated to add some visual interest but otherwise the engine bay looks basically untouched. Though TR6s sold outside the US had fuel injection and 150 horsepower, the US-spec version of the engine had twin carburetors and produced 104 horsepower. The engine had good torque, though — 143 lb. ft. at 3,000 rpm — which added to the car’s fun factor.

Originality, low miles, longtime ownership — there's a lot to like here. It looks like a lot of vintage roadster for the money,  if it checks out.

Self-Stored 1954 Arnolt-MG Project

Chrises Cars - Self-Stored 1954 Arnolt-MG Project

This 1954 Arnolt-MG project is said to have been kept in dry storage for many years and is complete. One of only 67 or so fixed head coupes produced, this example still needs its cylinder head installed, but getting it running again shouldn’t be too difficult given that it’s an MG TD under the Bertone body. While it looks fine in cream, restoring it to the original black with red interior would be our choice at some point down the line. Find it here on eBay in Austin, Texas for $40k or Offer.

Sorted 1963 Chevrolet Greenbrier

Chrises Cars - Sorted 1963 Chevrolet Greenbrier

This 1963 Chevrolet Greenbrier is described as a California black-plate example with new paint, chrome, brakes and shocks. We like the styling of these vans and their flat-6 engines can leave pricier VW busses in the dust. Tone down these wheels and this lowered stance could still work well. Find it here on Craigslist in Pomona, California for $12,995.

Chrises Cars - Bologna Motor Show 2012 is the perfect place to test the Fiat Panda 4×4

The time for  the most anticipated Italian motorsport’s event is approaching: the Bologna Motor Show 2012, scheduled for December 5 to 9. Like every year in addition to the stand there will be many events for spectators. Among them there is a designated area for the new Fiat Panda 4×4. A fleet of ten cars will be made available to the public for the test drive on a track with different obstacles and road surfaces.

The third generation of the Panda 4×4 was launched at the last Paris Motor Show and is available with two engines: the new 0.9 TwinAir Turbo 85 hp diesel and the 1.3 Multijet II 75 HP 1.2 Fire. Compared to the previous generation, the TwinAir Turbo offers a 40% increase in torque which combined with the specific exchange with a 6-speed first shortened, provides improved starting ability uphill.

High Performance Kia Pro Ceed GT Confirmed

Chrises Cars - High Performance Kia Pro Ceed GT Confirmed

High Performance Kia Pro Ceed GT Confirmed pro ceed GT

Kia officially confirmed they are working on a high performance GT version of the new Pro_ceed model. It was almost a given, because it’s not exactly a secret that Kia desperately wants to become more sporty, and also because the new Pro_ceed is too good looking to remain just a family car.

Going on sale in the Spring next year, the Pro_ceed GT is a proper hot hatch. It will be powered by the firm’s 1.6-litre turbocharged GDI engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission. Now, 1.6 doe not sound like a lot, but that’s the way it works these days. Car maker have to compromise on the size of the engine and rely on stuff like KERs or turbos to make up for the lost performance. Otherwise they wouldn’t meet consumption and emissions targets.

It’s hard to tell what the car would look like based on this teaser picture Kia has given us, but you can notice the large wheels, sports grille and bumpers with red accents, and some new form of ED lights which look quite interesting.

Morgan 3 Wheeler Gulf Edition

The Morgan 3Wheeler is quite special as it is, but for those who want something truly unique, the British company released the 3 Wheeler Gulf Edition. They actually have a right to use this classic livery, because it is also featured on the Morgan Nissan LMP2, which is a real race car.

The body of the 3 Wheeler is almost completely wrapped in the legendary Gulf blue and orange livery, complemented with some Gulf badges and Morgan’s own unique touches such as the black roll hoops and the retro fuel filler cap. The side exhausts are also painted in black. The front tires meanwhile feature orange wall, which goes well with all the orange bits on the exterior and also orange stitching inside the cabin.

They will only make 100 units of this special Gulf Edition. It’s better than pretend bullet holes and other stupid graphics the 3 Wheeler normally comes with.
